Agency History

Aubert Insurance was founded in 1910 by Robert Leufroy Aubert. Mr. Aubert eventually sold the agency to Emma Whepley Lyon and her husband Elmer E. Lyon, the longtime superintendent of Education in St. Tammany parish. The Lyon's ran the agency until they sold it to their son, Meridith "Buster" Lyon in the 1940's. After his death in 1976, the Hendry family purchased the agency. Stephen Hendry joined the agency in 1977 and has been president of the corporation since 1986. He is a 1975 graduate of LSU in the curriculum of Risk and Insurance. 

Our main location is located at 614 E. Boston Street in the heart of Downtown Covington. Our Slidell office is located at 58418 Tyler Dr.

We enjoy the status of being one of the oldest agencies in St Tammany Parish and the fourth oldest business in the City of Covington. The Aubert Insurance Agency is a full service Independent Insurance office. The agency represents a wide variety of property and casualty insurance companies which offer personal and commercial auto, homeowners and commercial fire, general and professional liability and workers' compensation coverage.

It is the goal of Aubert Insurance to serve St Tammany Parish community for another 100 years with integrity and stability.
