Request a Certificate of Insurance
Tell us who needs it and what the contract asks for. Send the holder's exact legal name and we will get it right the first time.
What does an independent insurance agency do?
We represent you, not one insurance company. We gather your information once, then compare coverage and price across the carriers we hold contracts with. You get choices, and one agent handles the paperwork.
Which types of insurance does Aubert offer?
We write 13 personal lines, including home, auto, flood, boat, and life. We write 15 commercial lines, including business owners policies, general liability, workers compensation, and commercial property.
Do I need flood insurance in St. Tammany Parish?
Your homeowners policy excludes flood, and much of the Northshore has flooded outside mapped high-risk zones. Lenders require it inside those zones. We check your flood zone and quote NFIP and private options.
Which states are you licensed in?
We hold licenses in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and Texas. License numbers appear in the footer of every page on this site.
How do you find me a competitive rate?
We take your details once and market them to the carriers and wholesale brokers that fit your risk. We compare the offers, explain the differences in coverage, and recommend the strongest fit.
How do I file a claim or request a certificate?
Call the office or use the Client Center on this site. We report the claim, follow the adjuster, and send certificates of insurance to whoever needs them.
Three things that decide whether it is right
Nearly every certificate that has to be reissued fails on one of these.
1
The holder's exact legal name
Copy it from the contract, not from an email signature or the side of a truck. "ABC Construction" and "ABC Construction Group, LLC" are different companies to a carrier.
2
The full mailing address
Include the suite or unit number. A holder address that does not match the contract is the second most common reason a certificate comes back.
3
The wording the contract asks for
Paste the insurance paragraph from your contract, word for word. Do not summarise it. The exact phrasing is what the other side is checking against.

Plain English
What those contract terms actually mean
Contracts ask for these by name. Here is what each one is.
Certificate holder
The certificate holder is the party being shown proof of your insurance. Being a holder gives them the certificate and nothing more. It does not extend any of your coverage to them.
Additional insured
An additional insured is a party added to your policy so your coverage can respond to claims arising from your work for them. This is a change to the policy, not a line on the certificate, and it usually needs an endorsement.
Waiver of subrogation
With a waiver of subrogation, your carrier gives up its right to recover from the other party after it pays a claim. Your policy has to permit it, and some carriers charge for the endorsement.
Primary and non-contributory
Primary and non-contributory means your policy pays first, and the other party's policy is not asked to contribute. It is common in construction contracts.
Notice of cancellation
The contract asks to be told if your policy is cancelled. What the carrier will actually agree to varies, so we check your policy before we confirm it.
Whether any of these can be added depends on your policy and your carrier. Send us the contract wording and we will tell you what is possible.
